Document Global Warming Contest

Document Global Warming Contest

global-warmingStoryPoint is looking for volunteers to help us document cases of global warming from around the world. To make it a little more exciting, we will be giving away a $200 prize to the best submissions.

We wish to establish a sound factual base for climate change/global warming events from around the world!

What Are Some Examples of Global Warming?

  • Did you notice the winter was a little warmer than usual? Maybe the trees and grass in your yard are turning green faster than normal.
  • Any other unusual weather patterns, such as a drought, flood, etc.?
  • Do you have any unusual flowers or plants that are new to your area?
  • Do you have a lake nearby that is higher or lower than normal?
  • If are you in an area with snow/ice, did you get more or less this winter?

Why Are We Looking for Stories?

We want to learn about how global warming may be impacting your local area. You may not even realize it until you think about some of the examples above (which are all events that could indicated global warming is impacting you!).

StoryPoint is about creating rich stories with text, photos, gps and voice. We are looking for YOU to help us create a Story Book of Global Warming Stories to share.

How Do We Plan on Sharing?

We are looking to create a map and will host your stories on our Community Page. All published material will be credited to the authors.

How Do I Enter the Contest?

To qualify, we are seeking stories built using the StoryPoint App and have the following:

  • Photographic evidence  and/or indications of global warming
  • GPS Coordinates of a global warming event
  • Text and/or Voice to explain what you are posting

Why Use StoryPoint?

StoryPoint is a mobile platform that allows you to document your experiences with:

  • Text
  • Images
  • GPS
  • Voice

StoryPoint then creates a beautiful representation of your story for easy sharing on the web.
